That time of year is upon us again, time for Mr MXT's annual 'ring trip! Interesting to see how MXT gets on, as we have 70bhp more than last year, but still the top end speed limiter!

Really looking forward to it! Weather isnt meant to be great though frown

Are you meaning ring visit costs?

So many variables, tunnel, or ferry- both cheaper out of season & cheaper still if booked well ahead, towing over or driving, guesthouse/hotel/camping, mpg of car laps done- cash in yr 100 redline laps so 4quid a lap or buying there so 20 quid a lap, or year card so 1300quid down, but break even at hmm 70 odd laps area, beer you drink, eating out budget, tyres used, pads used other consuambles etc etc a 250bhp turbo will cost a tad more than a standard car etc etc etc.

Either way its a lot more than it was many yrs ago when a lap was circa under a tenner & even a yr card was 500 quid.

Bit diferent for me as work generally funds my trips, I don't do many pure only fun trips anymore, I just have to cough up the on track fuel & even then *cough* I may have posibly run it through work cough heck its advertising smile

Thing is if it goes wrong it can cost big, most cars I bring back have 3k+ quid armco bills, 10k is not unknown, then recovery off track & bit of yard storage- last wks example 500quid for that, then my bit to get em to uk, so all in all can be a 5k wk end if you get it wrong.

Well actually as most brits don't have proper insurance can end up loosing yr house in an insurance claim, but don't let that worry you...

I've tracked most uk tracks over the yrs & a fair lot all over europe, Monza, Zandvoort, Spa, Dijon, Charade, Mas Du Clos, Val de Vienne, etc etc heck out of europe even lapped Bathhurst but 'ring has a v special pull & takes sooo much learning to be quick & smooth.

Amazing, if you haven't been.. Go.

I'm already planning another two trips this year, hopefully!

Shame it rained everyday, and due to this I was worried about stacking it so only did 6 laps. My first lap ever, pulled up at the barrier, no rain.. T13, its raining, at Ex-Mulhe got a drift (Accidental!) on.

Definitely go though, incredible place!

Oh and, (No-Homo) I do have to commend Mr MXT on his driving, and set up of his car.. Very impressive, and definitely made me want to push mine harder.

Umm, it was fine in mine.. Slightly bumpy but no problem really. I was taking it at about 40mph, on a passenger run in MXTs car, he scraped quite abit but was taking it at about 50mph.. His is higher than mine wink
