Really? Badass alien ass kicking with a side of jokes doesn't appeal to you as much as Q5 or a D4 (even baring in mind Doom3 was bad?)

I expected more people to be interested in this frown

Look forward to it, really hoping it's not as crap as most games which have been stuck in dev hell for years.

Really looking forward to this. I'm not the game geek I once was about 10+ years ago. Only play Gran turismo and Fifa with a bit of COD. But I used to have all the Duke Nukem games across most platforms back in the day and have been waiting long enough for this!

I'm in the First Access Club.

Previews for the multiplayer demo are giving it the full left handed lesbian trombonist treatment, so it should it be as puerile and low-brow as Duke 3D biggrin :

No, the original was fun in a cheesy way. The trailer for the new one just looks like any other FPS with a rehash of the old jokes - and the voice acting sounds terrible.

I don't think it needs to be quality, the whole point is a bit of mindless fun with explosions, a simple game. I think it's a good plan, most modern FPS are too complex, the last straight up fun games were probably the painkiller ones. I hope this follows those sort of principles.

Bulletstorm was the last. Some genuine lol moments playing that, and it was a decent brains out FPS too. DN just doesn't look as good in the trailers.

Well, the fact they're releasing a game after so many years in development means it's somewhat doomed by reviewers anyway so they must be fairly confident of it actually kicking ass.

I was. But as alot of people and I agree its been in development for so long and been made for various platforms that I feel what we may get is something just pumped out and mediocre. Nothing on the vids made me want to play it. Meanwhile I played Red Faction Apocalypse and never spent so long just messing about on a demo!

Not really, I wont rush out to buy it in the same way I would another franchise like GTA, GT or Modern Warfare etc because you KNOW they'll be brillaint.

I don't suspect this is the same game they started developing however many years ago.

I far as I remember the first one it was a slightly better than average shooter with some cheesy funny bits which came as a complete surprise because at the time no one really did that sort of this, it's all a bit old hat now.
