David Welcome to PH and the wedge forum in particular.

I was new to the TVRCC last year and went to the Crows Nest meet twice and found it pretty dull and I have to say, apart from a few guys (and one girl), generally unfriendly.

The Bucks RO is a nice enough guy but other than say hello he ignored me completely, didn't try to introduce me to the clicky groups and he very rarely writes up in Sprint. By contrast a few of us southern Wedgers met up a week or so back and gate crashed the mid-essex meet, completley different greeting, Pauline the RO is fantastic, and took the trouble to make us feel welcome and introduce us.

Just my opinion of course, I hope if you go you find it different, I might have come along to meet a fellow Wedger but I'm away for my holiday on Friday!

Keep an eye out for the "unofficial" local Wedge meets posted on this forum, I think Degz is organising one soon in Bishops Stortford. See here www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=98512&f=12&h=0

Lastly, don't be bashful of your 280, all Wedges are welcome and admired.

Regards
Steve

Older TVR Models especially welcome and admired

Personally, Im looking for an old TVR, the older, the better. Ok performance wont be the same as the newer ones, but hell, they were all fast in their day

Thanks for that, when is the next wedge meet as i am definately looking foreward to it already. My little 280 is not too bad as have had a few minor mods done to handling especialy, not all speed is in a straight line mind you the only people who say that are those with small engines. never mind it pi%%es over boy racers. it is for sale in the classifieds on ph if any one interested very nice condition prev owner a bodyshop owner and i have spent over 3k on mechanicals....

Wedget -

Mid Essex meet is second Sunday of each month at Forreters Park Golf Club, Great Totham (near Witham), Essex - usually from 12:00 and most people are left by 15:00. Good lunch if you want to eat but good and welcoming atmosphere as Stever has said - nice words of encouragement for Pauline Steve.

Hope to see you at the next meet!
