I am having trouble tracking down where the series one switches come from. They are Lucas, serial number 31828D and 34426E and look like:

Lucas still make the basic switch body but, as far as I can tell, not with the modified toggle with decals. As you can see, mine are completely shot, so, if anyone knows of another car that has these toggles I'd be grateful for the info.

Beginning to think my car was stored under water for a few years frown

Thanks

I have the same switches in my early S2 and they are not much better than yours. I think i read somewhere that they were also fitted to some jags but I can't find the reference. I guess the chances of finding any with the transfer/decals in place are pretty slim.

I have seen ONE switch with these toggles on E Bay in the last few months, but it was the wrong basic switch. Should have bought it for the toggle!!

I am tempted to buy new base switches and try to swap the toggles, but I would still be left without the decals. I have one precious decal, that was in the bottom of the box amongst the rust!

Hi Jersey,

Where are you planning on getting the new ones? or are you simply going to use more up to date switch gear?

Cheers Kit. At least they should be around somewhere. They made some interesting choices when sourcing components. The rear number plate light (eg) comes from, among others, an XK120 and one of the DB series (cant remember which)

Yes,

someone makes reproductions I believe, and several people sell them in the UK. I think theres also someone in the US who does them. Quality looks nice in the pictures, but I haven't seen one yet. Also there are variants with regard to the positioning of the studs at the back so you have to be careful. I expect I will opt for a nice new shiney one when I get that far. smile

Interesting,

looks like a wiper switch, a panel light switch and something that looks like it could be a washer pump (?)

I ve been trying to figure out what the switches could be for

So, a quick update on Vixen Series one Panel Switches.......I know you are all riveted

The switches appear to be the same as those found on

Aston Martin DB6 (close to the steering wheel, dont know which one because the one I looked at had no stickers on!!)
Alfa Giulietta and Giulia of the period and
Maserati Quattroporte

I couldn't find any Jags that had them fitted. There must be others, but I couldn't find them

Highwood Alfa do, what look like, repro switches with the same decals, but the switch bodies are different.

http://www.highwoodalfa.com/giulia/1alfa_romeo_giu...

I also found that Maserati Club International actually do a set of reproduction Decals bounce

http://www.maseratinet.com//p-10137-switch-emblem-...

They will send them letter post if you ask. Postage is $2

I ordered some

They are perfect

Oh yes rofl

I think I need some therapy
