You think that's bad, Matt... Try this!

Well he does but I think you'll find that the Jihad was only very experimental and never really worked. The person responsible for the Jihad was eventually discredited, and had to go and live in a tent.
Every so often some maniac would try to resurect the Jihad, but these feeble attempts usually ended in tears, and given how dangerous the Jihad actually was, often death for those concerned.
In fact the Jihad was created at Allahs suggestion, although he was drunk at the time. He often tried to distance himself from the Jihad, but those that worked on it were so demented that they had no interest in what he really had to say.
Needless to say that Allah was pleased as punch when he took delivery of a Countach, which he felt was much more fun !

I believe that I may be distantly related to some guys who sailed up the Thames in the 18th century or something .........
1667 - Sheerness & Chatham. It was the last time that English soil was "landed on" as it were, by foreign troops in any numbers. One of my ancestors was also in the raid. You are related to a guy called Admiral Cornelius de Wit, and are related to an (Ozzie) mate of mine who owns a dive boat in Papua New Guinea called Craig de Wit. My ancestor was called Admiral Jan van Brakel and he over stepped his orders and YOUR ancestor stuck him the brig to cool down! He then quit the Dutch navy and became a pirate! The Dutch navy still has a frigate named the van Brakel, if I am not mistaken, and am sure they will have a de Wit somewhere too! (A dinghy perhaps, maybe a tugboat!)
See you learn something new every day!

nice car by the way :-)
Ta, but it's not working properly at the moment!
Not your ancestor, Guy, mine, became a pirate! (If that is what you thought!) But by all accounts Cornelius was a bit of a rogue himself.
There is apparently a village in Clogland somewhere with a statue of Admiral Jan, but I have never been to Tulipland so have never seen it. A good excuse, me thinks, for a road trip!

"Scene of the battle of Chattam during one of the many Anglo-Dutch wars. In this battle, the Dutch sailed up the river Thames and destroyed part of the English fleet at anchor in the harbor of Chattam. Pictured in the foreground is the Dutch commander, Cornelius de Wit, being presented with the spoils of war. Above the battle floats an angel blowing a trumpet and two pair of putti. By A. Schouman, and hangs in the Dordrecht town hall, hometown of the victorious Dutch commander." blah blah blah
And here is the Dutch frigate named arfter me pirate ancestor, aharrr!

lol - no I knew the pirate was your ancestor......
My blood is clearly far too pure for that...lol
Well I've been to the land of windmills many times (and not just Amsterdam), and can highly recomend it !
Fave towns include Eindhoven, Nijmegan, Arnhem and Zwolle. In my seriously misspent youth we used to go to loads of rock festivals/gigs over there.....
They were the days, festivals like Aardschock and Dynamo - I'm afraid Glastonbury just doesn't cut it in comparison.....
(Metallica, Anthrax, Celtic Frost, Slayer, Metal Church on the same bill..... come on !)

I have heard of Metallica and Anthrax, but the others? You must be a Petrolheadbanger, Guy!
I shall indeed make a journey to Holland one day, but must wait at least a fortnight as the Cerbie's exhaust has blown and sounds like a Trabant with the silencer removed!

sounds quite cool to me, your neighbours should think themselves lucky.....
where do you take it? Are you anywhere near Fernhurst ?
Sounds dreadful to me!
I took it to Austec in Crawley.
Fernhurst are about an hour and 15 from me, Austec 20 mins, and it is where the car has been serviced the last 2 years and... ahem!... was inspected 3 weeks ago before I bought it!

sounds like you're near Fernies.... get yourself down there !
Anyhow surely thats an hour 15 in any other car ? That means 45 mins in a Cerb !
I know Fernies well - bought my Chim from them.
Just needs a weld to hold it in place for a couple of weeks and then Austec are going to replace the section of pipe when it goes in for a couple of other things.
Know a good welder near Tunbridge Wells or east Grinstead?!!!
