The best people to talk to about Mazda`s especially wankel rotary engined ones are Rotechniks. They are just off the M4 J11 at Reading and have been there for about 30yrs!! 01189888555 or www.berksmazda.co.uk

i saw a white RX3 in a scrap yard about 10-15 years ago, sadly the rotary engine had been replaced with a small piston engine, twin coils were still on the inner wing though smile

i have seen a RX4 for sale and probably would buy it if i had the room smile

I've never seen one in the UK, and you probably know you'll need deep pockets.

ETA: This guy has one and knows of only 2 others http://retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=d...

The one in the last post was great. Further searching led to one which sold recently on Car and Classic for circa £6k, but I have not found any sign of more around frown

I have also been looking in the NZ sites where there are more available, but the cult classic status back there raises a similar high price issue as VW Campers command in the UK eek

It's going in the 'keep my eyes peeled' category for future purchase.

I seem to remember a blue one featured in Practical Classics a couple of years ago. I'll see if I can find my copy.

That's the model I love, but £10k for one which I would need to put back to the way it should be (without all the purple bits) is a bit steep, even with that engine already in place.

My ideal is a standard one with a decent spec engine under the bonnet.
