Outside tertre rouge when you can hear the cars building up speed

Free parking in field next to Arnage corner. Head towards Arnage village (coming from the roundabout near to the Porsche Curves), turn sharp left before the rail crossing. When the road reaches Arnage corner you have to take the right turn and the field is just along on the right. Great place to watch as you can see Arnage and Indianapolis corners and the fast right coming into Indy off the straight from Mulsanne corner.

10 Euros eh? Must admit, I've only been there during practise/qualy but still worth it, great place to watch. And if you do go, take a map. As I recall you can't turn left out of the field so have to find your way back to Arnage village. Don't remember much in the way of signposting either.

The key is to follow the 'Parking' signs - find the car park at the circuit closest to your campsite and it is sign-posted all the way back from the first junction you get to after leaving the car park at Arnage.For example, to get back to Houx you can follow the green 'Parking Vert' signs, etc.
Never had a problem parking here, just wave my camping pass at the guys on the gate and they let you in. Unless the field is full,around midnight when everyone wants to go there, they direct you to the second field slightly further away from the viewing area, an extra few minutes walk. Maybe this is the cause of the "NON!"? Either way...it is, in my opinion, the best viewing area (great coffee too!) and in the worst case scenario...park up the road where it is a bit wider and walk back. Don't miss going there.

On race night this road can been gridlocked so you could spend some time looking at nothing.A couple of mountain bikes are worth taking so you can get out and about and by-pass the traffic and you can still have a beer or several.

+1Did this at the Classic last year and it was brilliant. Granted there wasn't anything like the traffic, but you could also cycle back the way you came which was much easier.
We may have also 'accidentally' taken a wrong turn and ended up watching from a marshall post halfway between Arnage and the Porsche Curves !
I like the Mulsanne corner. I guess the other place notably good for first go'ers of Le Mans, has to be the chicane complex just before the Dunlop bridge. On the opening lap this ia a tricky place, as all the cars come hirtling in from high speed. Sébastien Bourdais notably lost it here on the openning lap a few years ago, being hassled by Audi. He was in pole until this secteur of the track. If it's damp or greasy expect to see mistakes, and people skidding off. Best to stay on the inside part of the track, get to where the racing line is. You can see different entry lines, different driving styles.

For sure! Used to be one of the best places on the track, so close to the track on the outside of the bend among the trees, the sound bouncing off the over-pass as the cars roared off up the Mulsanne straight 
Never the same since it was 'upgraded'
Arnage for me now is the best place, a bit like the old Tertre Rouge but busier and more arse end out antics!
