Looking at getting a new car in a couple of months time, fancy something with a v8 but not something too raw (m3 etc) as I've got the Toniq for that purpose now. The car would be my daily drive, although I'm away for 6 months of the year so the mileage would be 4-5k tops.

The reason it appeals, it's ugly (strangely appealing) powerful, good traction and space for the dog. MPG doesn't bother me but I would like to know the other costs in running such a vehicle.

There are other cars on the list but the cayenne is at the top currently.

Get a Range Rover instead, it's much less hateful.

yes FFRR would be my choice. Although having been taken around the off-road course at Silverstone in a Cayenne I have to say they are a fantastic piece of kit - the Turbo must be blisteringly quick aswell!

I like them, but have never quite had the urge to pull the trigger.

There's a Turbo S in the classifieds for £59k... cloud9

Not as quick, which isn't the main priority but the Cayenne is supposedly more car like to drive.

The hateful ugliness is what appeals...

I'm sure someone will point out that you don't buy a car like that for the interior, but, the interior whilst nice, doesn't fit a £90k (I think that's about right) when new car.

As much as I like Range Rovers, they're a lot more troublesome than the Cayennes, aren't they?

They properly cane them around here at Goodwood, may be worth getting down to the FoS this year AV?!

Depends when it is, I'm out of the country till the 28th of June, at least!

The interior is nice enough for me, never rated porsche interiors personally but it'll be a step up from the Renault and somewhat more comfortable than the Toniq hehe

As said above, hilariously fast.

My boss has one and managed to get average 8mpg all the way home from southern Spain coz he was towing a small trailer. Expensive journey!!!

Doable then, need to plan some motorsport stuff for my 3 months off, otherwise I'll go mental with boredom!

I'll not be towing a trailer, I'll take the occasional drop into single figures though, why the hell not hehe
