Me being a dummy, but what are favourites in Outlook Express? Have I been missing out on some new type of web thing?
Please be (relatively) gentle with an answer to my probably dumb question.

Take a look in Outlook.. there is a "favourites" menu... should be the same as IE.

To save a vital few seconds. Lisa can get 4 posts done in that sort of timeframe......

Or even better still bookmark "mystuff".
Then when you go to it in the morning you are prompted with the log in screen* which then takes you straight to the replies to threads you have been in.
But what would I know, I barly touch the forums

I'm running OE5.0.2 on OS9.1, and there's no Favourites or History, so I'm confused.
Do you still have all your Favourites in IE? Were the lists the same? If you've managed to delete it from within the programme, it's dead. However, if you managed to delete it from the Finder, you might have a chance with a recovery programme like Norton Utilities or TechTool (ask IT if they have a copy). You need to run the File Recovery element. Stop using the machine until you've tried, as anything written to the hard disk (including databases like in OE) could overwrite it.
What you can do is open IE Favourites (in the browser), then go File/Export Favourites to create an html file. Exactly what you will do with the file (apart from keep it as a backup), I'm also not sure.

Saw the title, sad to see no picture in the thread. Oh well.
