S Series Site & TVRCC S Series Section

Hi All,
During my searches and info building just wondered who updates the S part of the Club site and The tvrsseries.com sites

They both seem to show older info

Chap called Pies for the S Series site, but he has not been on here for a while and I seem to recall he was going to sell his S, not sure if he ever did. Lots of pertinent info still though,

Pies running a great site a real enthusiast loads of info, but just the home page needed a little refresh..
Even if it shows something general.

I just thought when I first looked as a new prospective V8S Owner things had been forgotten a bit.

Same on the main club site. Old dated items just shows a little lack of The S Club Buzz we love....

I'm still listed from the time when I did it.

It looks like the pictures I had hosted (freeserve?) have died too.

Last time someone asked, it was said that there were plans in hand, and new Model editors were appointed. It was suggested that it would be a joint role (Sprint/Website). Although the S editor has been getting lots in Sprint - which is nice to see - the web pages have not been updated.
I guess if someone wants to at least get the next S Club meet listed, they should contact Paul at Cypher.

I sold the S a few years ago!
I'm sure the S series site was run by "Pies" http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?mem... , he may also have sold on. There is a similar issue with the Griffith Pages with BB moving on, to a V8V AM. Anyway got the Steve Heath Griffith book out yesterday - my first stepper motor clean!

I am the "new" S Series editor (is it 2 years or 3 now?) and although I have been submitting articles for Sprint, some written by me and some by others, I don't have access to edit the club web pages. It was discussed at one point, but didn't happen.

I don't push things like this. If people want to do things, they will do it. If they don't, I am not going to try to force them. If I could, there would have been twice as many articles in Sprint, taking account of all the items I have been promised that never materialised.

I am grateful to all who have submitted articles - every one has been published. If anybody has ideas for other articles, then get in touch.

In any case, IMHO discussion of TVRCC web site should be on the TVRCC forums, not here.

The reason I use this site and not the TVRCC is that I honestly think more is written by more S owners on here than the official site.
I was a member of the TVRCC and only realised my membership ran out because I stopped receiving Sprint. They did not let me know the membership was about to expire, my log in details also stopped working (obviously).
I really enjoy this forum and have no urge to try using two forums for the same thing.

The only reason I would consider the joining the TVRCC again is to go to the meetings. My apologies if this offends anyone, I am just speaking as I find it.

That's odd, because I think generally they're very good at that sort of thing. You can even set it up to renew by direct debit so that you can be renewed automatically unless you tell them not to. I hope you think that Sprint is worth the subscription on its own (I certainly do) but the additional activities organised by the club, and the support available from the regional meetings and the web site, is also very valuable in my opinion.

I am sure that my membership just slipped through the net.
I do like the Sprint magazine although the S is not in it as often as I would like. I have offered my car for an article but this is no dig at Andrew, I know its not as simple as it sounds.
I have not had the chance to attend a regional meeting yet due to my time constraints. I really would like to attend and will have a chance soon I hope. I know from the atmosphere on here they must be well worth a visit.

Steve, forgive me if memory is playing tricks, but I recall you offering the car, and I thought that I had replied - a quick check shows that I did reply (about hydraulic tappets and all that) but I forgot to say anything about the article. I'm sorry, of course I would be interested in an article about the last S ever built!

I was also discussing just the other day, the fact that you had never been to a regional meeting. There are a couple of other new S acquisitions in our area, and we would like to see all of you along at a regional meeting. I know that you've set you're not a car meet kind of person, but it would be good if you could make it along, even occasionally, just to keep in touch.

I think it is easier if people just use years, although TAGII confused people, what happened to TAG-1.

The first was in late 2001. It was the start of a series of Virgina Waters meets organised on PH which grew to have more TVRs, supercars, and then more general cars. At the time, the founder of PH was running an S4 - with PH stickers. There's even a report hidden in the depth of the oily pages here.

Obviously the name was a pun on a popular (?) beat combo!

The second was (at the TVR dealer) at Silverstone in 2004, there was a nice write up in the TVRCC Sprint - that were the deleted pictures. The dealer gave us bacon roles and most people went for a blast.
So the third, also at Silverstone would have been 2005. I didn't go but won a raffle prize!
2006 appears to have moved to Stratford, http://www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/past_events/s_club_0...
By then the TVRCC was embracing single model meetings, reversing their previous policy.

Paul has now sent me the "toys" to maintain this section of the TVRCC site. I've only made a few tiny changes so far, but I'm hoping to update more of the links etc in the very near future.
