Israel, the real end game!?

So who thinks the "Arab Spring" end game is going to be the fall of Israel!?...
After a recent visit there I was struck by how much it reminded me of apartheid South Africa.
The world has moved on, Israel cannot stand as a racist outpost. My 2p.
I don't think that the end game is anywhere near. After a recent visit there I was struck by how much it reminded me of apartheid South Africa.

Just out of interest, where abouts in Israel did you travel? DId you go to the Occupied territories at all?
Actually I think the opposite. The Isralei state was used as an excuse for years by the Arab leaders as so why they were underperforming, the external bogeyman who was keeping them all down.
I think the growing media and social networking penetration into these countries has enabled the Arab people to see that past their own internal propaganda and see that actually, Israel is not at fault for their issues.

Certainly not for causing internal Arab issues - but not clean as a whistle otherwise!I think the growing media and social networking penetration into these countries has enabled the Arab people to see that past their own internal propaganda and see that actually, Israel is not at fault for their issues.
I'm impartial in the Israeli/Arab fight - both have valid arguments and faults

You probably tend to get a bit paranoid when people are blowing up your buses and loading ambulances with bombs (and trying to disguise it by putting an unsuspecting, pregnant, Palistinean woman in it)After a recent visit there I was struck by how much it reminded me of apartheid South Africa.

Then there's the apartheid of Hamas killing all their opponents in Gaza (but that's ok because Hamas aren't Israeli) and the Syrians slaughtering their own citizens (but that's ok because they're not Israeli).

Bingo.I think the growing media and social networking penetration into these countries has enabled the Arab people to see that past their own internal propaganda and see that actually, Israel is not at fault for their issues.
Most Arab states have survived over the last 50 years by keeping their populace as dumb as possible and as frightened, either of the state or the Isreali boogyman.
The advent of social media and smart phones has done more to undermine this power than any Western or Isreali intervention.
The Isrealis are a
holes, make no bones about it but as soon as you start to imagine that you live in the middle of a cul de sac in which all the residents of the other homes are demanding that you die and some keep lobbing grenades through your windows then you may be able to possibly begin to understand why they come across as a

They are all the same in their actions. Violence be-gets violence.
Once the western puppet governments fall where will the masses turn their anger too next!? Who will they blame for their underperformance then?

holes who turned up one day and 'encouraged' the people who live there to move and then squatted ever since, taking over next doors greenhouse and garden and getting their big mate from the next street to back them up

Or returned home to find squatters had screwed the place up.

It's a two sided story and a total mess. But as mentioned both sides are caught in a spiral of violence.

I don't apportion blame, I just think analogies are fun

Yep. That's right. "Palestine" was a peaceful place populated, for the last 2,000 years, only by benign Arab villagers who toiled in their fields making the desert bloom. And then, out of nowhere, probably on a Tuesday, a bunch of Jewish people turned up on a boat from Russia and became the first Jewish people to ever set foot in the place. Fancy that.

'That's right'? Never said it was peaceful;), never said there were no Jews there to begin with.
I think of it more as one of the s
ttiest streets in town where all the mongs live, the names of the mongs change every now and then

This is one of those occasons where I'm pleased to be able to agree with you 100%.
What both sides need to do IMO is try to figure out the spelling of c-o-m-p-r-o-m-i-s-e.
In particular, the side with the most physical power has to do the most compromising. Whether they're bright enough to realise and accept that is another question altogether....
