I have never heard of this, but I don't see what the authorities are worried about.

Surely this exactly what Darwin writing about?

If this had been a couple of dwarves would the Police have referred to them as being as thick as two short planks?

Planking - straight to the top of my list of 'Things That Are Really Stupid & Pointless'

Clearly the world is full of people without the imagination to fill the 'too much time on their hands'.

Sympathy = None

Nice to see we will have a new moral panic for a few weeks, especially since the media have just caused 1000's of people who had never heard of it to discover planking and no doubt join in the 'craze'

If you think Planking is stupid, check out "tombstoning". Lots of deaths and serious bisablements already - noteably in the South-West of UK.

Not at all, being on police equipment without lawful excuse is the foundation of Australian law.

Possibly.

Planking! Terrible. It should be banned.

Seems like a non-story to try out a new term dreamed up by the media to describe people being stupid.

I suppose "Man dies following act of stupidity" wouldn't make much of a story though.

You want to ban somebody from doing something stupid? Just to add another to a list of laws we don't need.

Let Darwin work his magic. And if it means having to pay for a few poor, stupid souls who will spend the rest of their lives in a wheelchair, then that's fine by me. If only to protect one of the few freedoms we still have left, that is to let idiots photograph themselves doing idiotic things.

I was being tongue-in-cheek, in my best Daily Mail sort of rage.

On the contrary I think people should be free to be as stupid as they like, and we would have a healthier, happier and smaller population as a result.

It just makes me laugh the way they come up with these terms and try and make them into some sort of new invention, when it's realyl just people being stupid.

Did anybody die though, or was this one of those Hollywood films that glamourised bad behavior? laugh
