Hi

I'm cleaning up and painting some suspension components and a rear axle. I'm going to degrease then wire brush and was thinking of then painting with Hammerite. Are there any better spray on products that people can recommend?

TIA

Not really, no.

There's POR15, but that's generally brush-painted (though, like Hammerite, it can be sprayed if you thin it down enough).

At risk of stating the obvious, the biggest probelm with suspension components (axles in particular) is making sure they're properly cleaned and degreased, and by the time you've stripped them down far enought to ensure that, you might also wish to consider powder coating as an option.

Hammerite works perfectly well, though. smile

Thanks for that, I've heard some good things about Epoxy Mastic 121. The chassis is being powdercoated but as all the suspension components are fairly easy to remove I'm not after an as new finish, they can be replaced further down the line. Brush painting is also fine.

Cheers
