Guesses on TG lap times
Discussion
The word seems to be that the Macca has just posted some impressive times.
1336 kg without Pirelli Corsa tires 1min 14.1 seconds
1301 kg "Light weight package" With Corsa tires 1min 12.9
MP4-12C GT : 1min 11.4 seconds
Info via the London McLaren dealer but it should be an interesting TG season if the M600 and the MP4-12 are both featured.
Anyone want to run a book on the M600 time?

They probably won't test the M600 again, because TG people tend to have the attention span of a 5 year old full of sweets and not enough ritalin.
The reason the McLaren is so fast around there is A) it's a quick car and B) they've been driving around that track every minute of every day they can for months. It's very well tuned to the track, well the one that's been setting the time anyway

I want to see a track day there for us guys. I bet kev and tux could put in some good times
can you book dunsfold for a track day?
I don't know about booking it for a track day as that might be a bit dangerous (as it's a figure of eight!), but it might be worth talking to Plans about whether they're still enabling people to post a time on it. can you book dunsfold for a track day?

Thought there was once a day out for the Nobles there, plans already run a time board so they may well sort something out for us?Bondy

I don't remember anything about a Noble event there, but Harsh organises the Dad's Day Out at Dunsfold http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&a... so it might be worth talking to him. Obviously that event uses a different track layout so it'd have to be run as a type of time trial, rather than a normal track day, if you want to set times on the actual TG track.Bondy
Dear All,
Yes Plans did host a Noble event there, one car on the track at a time, if I remember it was wet. Good day by all except for one of the guest "instructors" who had a habit of grabbing the wheel when he didn't like what you were doing!!!
Since driving on the circuit has been massively restricted as the NIMBYS protest and Mclaren had the circuit virtually block booked for the MP42.
It would be worth doing anoteh rdya there so see what Plans can come up with.

Shortly after that Schumacher in the FXX did a 1:10.7 on slicks.
Looks effortless Ultima went back using slicks did an incredible 1:09.9
Perhaps the 600+ bhp M12's that now exist in the right hands would give the M600 a run for it's money on the Top Gear track.
It would be interesting to see the times on all the above especially using the new Pirelli Trofeo track tryes that are supposedly better than Corsa's which take some beating when upto temperature on track.
