New training Programme - advice pls

Why arms, shoulders and then whole body? Whats the logic for that?
Also doing legs is very important for losing weight and development. Cycling isn't going to add any muscle to your legs and missing them out is missing out about 50% of your overall training in my view. Training legs will help you gain muscle all over and will stop you becoming unbalanced even if they seem ok now.
I'd keep it simple and do a 4 day split or 3 days split and just train hard with little breaks so you can fit it in. I don't have to worry about time but most of my sessions don't really over 35 minutes (I love doing it HIT style because of the intense workload of not resting a lot).

What sort of exercises would you suggest ? Ordinary_Chap said:

yeah that would be ideal, am going to try and do this more on the weekends when i have got my form sorted. But can't do that during the week as i simply don't have time to set everything up as welltricky69 said:

As for time, I know you've got a busy schedule but surely you can make an extra 10-20 mins to get the sessions done? If not then a rethink maybe in order.

I was curious as you seem to be doing isolation based training and then a whole body session and the two seems to be opposed to each other.

Hmm maybe will have to rethink then i guess. Just thought it was a good way to get as much in as possible. For legs, the squat is a must for me and then other ancillary exercises.

sorry for being dumb but how to you mean the two are opposed to each other ?
Will have to make time to do squats then... time really is the biggest killer for me

A simple split of 4 times a week could be;
1. legs day
2. Chest/Back day
3. Back/Biceps day
4. Shoulders/abs/calvs
Or something like this so you work all of your muscles once a week, don't be tempted to fall into the foolish trap of just training muscles you like (abs, shoulders and biceps seem to be the favourites). If you do this generally you'll look a bit odd the more you train as you're body will become unbalanced with some good muscles and other muscles undersized until the point you just look all out odd.
Or as above you could do some type of 5x5 program which also seems to work well when starting out.

on the back and bicep day, what part of the back are you working ? Lower back i guess as you don't mention it on the Abs day ?
During the back day the exercises should work both areas of the back and then once you've done that move on to biceps. The reason back/biceps are done together is they are both pull based exercises so working the back also works the biceps. To be honest my biceps are heavily worked out before I even get to the bicep training.
Your abs shouldn't even need a lot of work if you're doing other exercises like squats, deadlifts etc.
