Alright guys, some interesting thoughts going through my head at the moment. I've had the Noble just over a year now, I've had some great times, and nearly 10,000 miles worth of fun out of it. I've loved nearly every minute but I'm starting to get aspirations of heading to the track. After last Tuesday's fun my eyes have been opened and I really don't think I can go down that route. To get me on track I'd need probably a grand's worth of bits adding to the car and would end up maybe going on 2-3 days once I'd done it. Combined with the extra tyre and vehicle wear and the thought of chucking my entire worldly worth round a track it's not looking promising. I realise Nobles have the strange situation of modifications like that adding value but still I don't really want the hassle of it all.

At the moment I'm finding myself constantly torn between two toys: the bike and the car. I don't really ever use the Noble in the rain and I often find myself thinking "why am I not on the bike?!?". Yes, point to point the car is faster and in spite of that, less likely to kill me but I suppose that's what makes the bike so much more exciting and satisfying.

It would be a shame to get rid, but my ideas would involve swapping it and the Puma for some kind of diesel estate, trailer and track bike combo so that I can concentrate more on motorbikes.

I dunno really. It's not costing me much to run and keep and it is absolutely brilliant to have one at my age. It's so special, so fantastically composed and quick on the road and I know I'd miss it like no other car I've had before.

Any thoughts?

Do what I did, Keep the Noble and then go and find a m8 who will go halves on a track slag..... We spent £1500 and away we went.

3 years later and we are now racing.... Love it!

I'll go halvsies on a trailer with you if you go down the trackbike route... biggrin

If it's any help, you're sort of thinking along the same lines as I was thinking when I got rid of my Locoblade - I didn't like the fact that I was lobbing around £8k's worth of car, and I was a bit worried about breaking it, although less worried than you as 160bhp wasn't likely to blow up a diff!

I worry less about the mx5, and I'm not worried at all about the bikes being able to take a good thrashing.

Thought about selling mine on a number of occassions when I get bank statements that I can't bring myself to open! However, I know if I did sell it, I'd want it back and probably then couldn't afford to buy another at a later date! Though many others who have put theirs up for sale have always threatened to return to the fold!
Find a way to keep it and the bike. I tried putting my missus on the game but there were no takers.
