Fellow PHers,

I'm after getting my e46 330d with sat nav, iPod'd up.... Apologies if this is a duplicated thread, i did search some previous forums, but there is nothing less than a year old on the matter.

Basically, I dont have much knowledge on the matter and am assuming i can get a certain cable and plug it into the back of my sat nav head unit (Factory fitted). I am porbably wrong, but hey ho! That is what you guys are for!!

Any direction here would be brilliant, as im wanting my situation rectified by our Le Mans trip!

I am hoping to be able to navigate my ipod through the head unit if at all possible?

TIA guys&girls,

Matt

You will need a kit which replaces the CD autochanger, Dice, Connects2 and Dension all do them and they regularly come up for sale on fleabay (about £80-£100). It will cost you about £50 for a competent auto electrician to fit it.

Are they literally all the same / do the exact same thing, or is one particularly better than another?

Thanks!

IMO the Dension kit is the best, I had it fitted with a professional head unit in my old 330i touring and it worked seamlessly, the ipod was ried into the glovebox and the lead charged it as well, all the playlists could be accessed from the head unit.

Shame the same solution in my E91 is £500!

This is the one you want (it is the 100 but needs to work with your sat nav) the other one is (gateway 500) is for fibre optic cars like the E90

Brilliant!

Thanks for your help.... Literally, this kit and then present to someone who knows what they are doing?

Thanks so much!
