It must be related to the system they have in the 911 racing car etc with the flywheel (Williams F1 tech?) So the new Carrera will have a smaller 3.4 engine, but be faster with the KERS system.

They really are tts aren't they?

Can't even stop their engines expiring prematurely but come up with time for this nonsense.

I was just thinking, another reason to avoid a used 911 in the future.

Manufacturers have no eye at all on the effect of resale of some of these features. Fair enough, they're selling to new customers who have full warranty, but if it affects used values it must knock on to new sales as people look to upgrade.

cool. Would they be putting a big BOOST button on the steering wheel to allow the driver to choose when and where they use it?

Sounds like a good idea really, more power and mpg, what isn't to like.

What isn't a good idea are those stickers that make it look like it has turbo air intakes hehe

I wonder how long it'll be before Toyota and Honda rebrand their hybrids as "KERS" since the term seems to be so fashionable now. It would be the work of a moment to have a mode where the cars didn't use the electric motors until the driver pressed a button.
