Daft question no 2 - Vantage boot "fixings"

What are those round black plastic fixings for in my Vantage boot? Can you get accessories which "clip" on to them or something?
They look like they could be used for a luggage net, which would be quite useful, but I can't find mention of one anywhere!

I have an 4 point mesh net I hook up to them to hold coats hats etc.
