Just had an interesting experience on the drive back from Morrison's, which made me wonder why some people fell so big and powerful when they are behind the wheel?

I pulled out of a junction onto a small side street with cars parked on both sides when it was clear, to be welcomed a couple of seconds later by some idiot in a Corsa blasting the horn at me and driving far too fast. Now, both me and the passenger did not see him when I pulled out so he must have been going some speed.

He was so angry at me that I could literally see him jumping up and down on the seat shouting all sorts of profanities at me!

So I decided to annoy him even further by putting the brakes on and slowing right down. As soon as he saw this, he stopped having a hissy fit, and resumed to full calmness while looking quite sheepish.

Now, why do people do this? Why drive too fast in a built up area, and then blast the horn at other road users for no good reason??

Tiny penis I suspect.

To be serious though, maybe he's just had a bad day.
I see this happen on a regular basis on my way to work, and I try not to immediately think - "Wow, what an absolute wker of a man."

Had one of these in Camberley last week, 'man' in a Blue Vectra decided that nobody would pass him on the filter lane so tried to block it off, even though there was 100-150 yds before it merged.
So I still overtook him as that kind of small mindedness is just pathetic. He then tried to speed up to force me out but I was well ahead of him. He then starts blasting his horn and waving like a tt, little beardy type, looks like that idiot Mike Parry.
So I brake tested him and slowed to about 10 mile an hour. He's then stuck behind me so makes a big thing about taking a picture of my number plate with his camera phone. Wouldn't pull beside me at the lights even though he was turning right, so spineless as well as angry behind the wheel, not that I would have got out as I had a passenger in the car.

A mate at work had this. On his way to work, he was creeping through slow moving inner-city traffic and stopped to let someone out of a side-street (out of courtesy obviously) and the girl behind him in a Audi leans on the horn. He looks behind him, see this woman pretty much bouncing around the inside of this car in a rage so did the only thing any sane person would do.

He did the "tears in my eyes" action (namely comically wiping away imaginary tears) - and let a second person out of the side street. This of course pretty much wound her up more, to our amusement.

I've tried Babelfish and it came back as unrecognised. Please let me know what language your speaking as it might be a really interesting post!

I had this when in a queue. We were moving about 10 feet per minute but because I'd left a gap of a couple of car lengths ahead of me instead of burning the clutch, the guy behind started raging like a maniac and then pulled out to overtake. I swiftly closed the gap (obviously) before he could get in, and the car behind followed, so this idiot was stuck on the wrong side of the road facing the wrong way. He was so angry he actually started spitting on his own windscreen. Amazing.

You brake tested him -- that makes it alright. Not condoning his behavior -- but yours was not destined to make the highway code suggestions either wink

I have to admit I get extremely angry in the car sometimes. I am a very laid back person and not easily offended in every day life. For some reason in the car I totally change and admit I have a problem! The other day I was following some guy for a few miles when all of a sudden he hit the brakes hard and swerved into a side road with no indication at all. I was absolutely bubbling with rage to the point where the OH gave me a bent ear. A few minutes later and I am back to normal but until then I cannot be rational, just want to at the very least shout and swear at the offender. Silly really!

I did not pull out on him, he was driving far too fast. The road is a 20 zone, so he must have been going at least 40 for me not to see him when pulling out.

Why did I put the brakes on and slow down? To annoy him. That is the best way to deal with tailgaters. Note - I didn't brake test him, just slowed down gradually to 10 mph under the limit.

Why would I wave a sorry and suck up to the idiocy of a stupid boy racer with too much testosterone in a stupid little Corsa?

He was driving dangerously, should I have just let him get on with it?

And I think your spellchecker is broken... wink
