Dedicated GPS for trail riding

Hi Guys,

Looking to get a dedicated GPS device to assist me with trail riding etc. I'd like to try some alternative routes and pre-mapping on a PC/downloading other peoples rides really appeals. Can anyone recommend one, there appear to be so many on the market and some of the devices have numerous varients at differing prices (Garmin Edge 800 for instance) it's all a bit confusing.

Wiggle had 20% off on Garmin 800's the other day, not sure if they will do it again soon

It bought the cost of the base 800 (only, no HR or cadence) down to £280 ish and then you can use the free maps from http://talkytoaster.info/ukmaps.htm

The performance pack with the HR + Cadence was down to £319

I use an Etrex Vista HCx, which is happy with the talkytoaster maps too. It runs on AA batteries, so is ideal if you have any multi-day rides planned. I think they are less than £140 now.
