Griff went in for mot today and failed due to rear plates not been lit up with lights on! I changed the plates after the last m.o.t so have not had this problem in the past. Can anyone let me know the answer as to how the lights behind the plate are supposed to light the front of the plate??

Hello,

sorry if i am missing something here but you do need 'special' plates that allow the light to reflect through (i think)!?

Yep, you should have special translucent ones as they are backlit from within the boot. Normal plates don't work. having siad that, a friendly chat with the MOT man has always worked - 'they're all like that, that's the way they are'.
