?? Spot the error(s)

"Power comes from the twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six that's used for the Z4 sDrive 35iS rather than the supercharged 3.0-litre in the M3"...

Car Magazine has been out for a week with a twin test against the RS3, and the RS3 won!

Although I can't take their opinions seriously. Probably still trying to suck up to Audi in big way since the whole RS5 'twin test that never was' debacle from a few years ago.

I think the writer said he'd choose the 1M? How often do we read the car A is the 'better' car but car B is the one everyone wants to drive. All the 'down sides' for the 1M were exactly why people will buy it over the Audi. The Audi is a superb car and I doubt people who buy one would even look at a 1M - and visa versa.

Just to let you know that the new Top Gear magazine is out and they have a review of the 1M in there. Overall a very positive review.
They also have a preview DVD of the new Senna film due out soon.

Drove one today, only for about 5 minutes unfortunately, but it made a very strong impression on me. No article can explain the menacing, un-tamed noise these make. And there's something very special about knowing you're driving one of only 450 examples.

That is why I had to order one. Roll on Sept/Oct!

Per my post in the "1M spotted" thread, i picked up a 1M this afternoon as Ive been offered a four day test drive.

Was grinning from ear to ear all the way home - it was sensational.

Will report back after I've got to know it better over the next 24-48 hours...

So that's 450 for the UK. What about europe, will they have unlimited numbers ? (I would find lhd preferable anyway).

Anyone know if they have carried over the 4 pot brakes from the 135 ? (It seems like a no-brainer, but BMW are still in denial about brakes....) Would be a real shame to see them return to that ste sliding caliper junk.

I'm pretty sure they've put M3 brakes on, they should work ok as the 1M weighs a fair bit less than an M3.

After a bit of research. that does appear to be the case. What a shame. Those brakes will be fine for road use, but a few laps on track, with the kind of corner/entry speeds this car will generate is going to result in all the same issues most M car's see on track with it's standard brakes. So if you are looking to buy one, you probably need to factor in another 2.5k on top of the price for some propper stoppers. I am really disappointed now........

What were the terms for this? Was this from Sytner?

Normally £250 deductible against purchase price but we've bought some cars from them in the past so I didn't pay as much as that.

cheaper than an Avis rental in that case, even if you don't end up buying! Aren't all the build slots allocated already?
