Wow. It's basically a Chinese knock-off shell... and clearly the M&S buyer doesn't know his/her watches.

Still, if I need spare parts for my Riseman, I bet the specs are pretty accurate... biggrin

But are they a copy of, say, ear warmers?

For those of you with rather extravagant ears, yes.

A lot of the high street retailers appear to be doing the same. It's worse with perfume/aftershave, I even had one of the M&S staff telling me which brands they had copied!

I expect these watches will be cleared off the shelves of M&S as soon as Casio see them.

I see "split" (as in split time) is spelt SPUT!

Richard.

Joke is on you, SPUT is a common feature on the G-Shock Cookman, it is a feature used for timing yer Spuds, or a SPUd-Timer if you will..

rofl at spelling errors.

What module do you lot think it uses. Clearly, the altimeter circle is blank. (If it did measure barometric pressure, I'll buy 100 of them and get them on ebay.)

Having worked with merchandise buyers in a previous job, I can tell you that they regularly take a punt on rubbish that they hope might sell. A mate was head of procurement for a fashion chain, responsible for shop refits, corporate-wide purchases such as electricity contracts, buying bog rolls in bulk etc - basically everything except the merchandise. He claimed that the fashion buyers (who all seemed to be called Pandora or Lucinda) appeared to latch onto any old tat.

Dear Marc Bolland

Why is your shop selling Chinese knock-off watches?

Yours sincerely,

Mr R Hoof

Perhaps you could get into a knock off / hommage debate with him?

Here he is in his previous job. Is that a PP Calatrava? Or a Baume and Mercier? Or a Raymond Weil?
