Does anyone else suffer from exhaust fumes in the cabin of their Griff when the window/s are open. Funnily enough it is worse when there is only one window open..

Due to aerodynamics/vortex of the air/gas flow, I thought the fumes would'nt make it back to the windows..

Roll on warmer days, so I can have the top down and not get carbon monoxide poisoning

Cheers

I had that in a 4.0 Griff, and it gradually got worse. I took it to my local tyre and exhaust place who tightened up the nuts and then it was much better. It always had a smelly boot though, as the rear lights weren't sealed.

The link mentioned in the last message talks about 'high pressure' behind the car. I think they mean low pressure? There will certainly be lots of vortices/turbulence etc that would run forwards into the boot though I expect.

Good subject for a pub debate here....

I have a suspicion that it's all relative. If the pressure inside the car is lower than than the pressure behind the car, then the air behind could misleadingly be described as 'high pressure'.

However, there is at least one dodgy assumption made in that statement that needs checking out.

Hmmmm, there seem to be some mixed feelings/throries on this subject. But none seem iron clad.
And my blood is gradually getting saturated with carbon monoxide.
Why does it not happen when the windows are shut?
Open one window and the smell is overwhelming. Open both windows and it gets better.

I do love my Griff, but I am begining to get rather sick of this. Literally......
