Micro scooters

anyone over the age of 12 riding a micro scooter looks like they would also have a van full of puppies....
Depends where you are I guess!. I have seen quite a few people using these in central London, nobody gives a second look. But I can imagine you would get some grief in some places. Similar to fold up bikes, you see loads in London & nobody gives a damn, but when riding home at the other end in commuter land its a different story.oldbanger said:
Can you ride them on the pavement (legally). I mean the non-engine, foot/push powered ones only.
I've got a new job (woohoo) and need to work out how to manage the commute - 15 min walk to station from office, and my train is at 17:16h.
Get in 5 minutes earlier, leave 5 minutes earlier. Or just walk quicker.I've got a new job (woohoo) and need to work out how to manage the commute - 15 min walk to station from office, and my train is at 17:16h.

Just get the micro-scooter and wear a "balls to everyone else" grin on your face as you scoot like a spastic to and from the station.
Seriously, do it. You'll look like a retard, but who cares?
Exactly what I've already told my husband Seriously, do it. You'll look like a retard, but who cares?

Has anyone actually established if doing so will get me nicked, though, rather than just lose all respect from my new colleagues?
I have also considered the heelies

Just remember that before you try and get down with the kids you'll have to get a load of postmans elastic bands if you're going to retain any street cred...

Does anyone know why they do this?? If you haven't noticed then just look tonight and you'll see that all kids of school age seem to have the elastic bands on them as a kind of "pimp my ride" thing ?!?!?!
