Old TVR, New TVR, Old TVR?

Just a random thought. My first TVR was a 1976 3000M that I did 16000 miles in a year. I've now got a Cerbera that I've done about 14000 miles in so far. So I feel I can compare the two.
The two cars were quite similar in many ways (fast, noisy, hot, a bit smelly, leak in the rain, but lovely) and yet quite different in others.
The main difference is that the 3000M would 'come alive' at much lower speeds (sub-100MPH) than the Cerbera. For a while I owned them both, and every time I got back in to the 3000, I would be amazed at how responsive and fast it felt on A and B roads. The Cerbera is still fantastic to drive, but most of the time I'm so far inside its limits (on the road) that I'm just cruising.
The Cerbera is the car I've always wanted, so I doubt I'll ever sell it, but occasionally I have hankerings for a nice modified 3000M or Vixen.
Anyone else had similar experiences/thoughts?

similarish. Was out in the chim last night and entered into some hoonage with another car. Realised the speed we were doing was pretty alarming and would have resulted in serious shite if the Bib had got hold of us. Was just thinking I better take another class in self control to avoid any problems. Then started recalling how in my S3 I could get the sensation of speed within (or only marginally outside) the speed limits. Made me wonder if having all that extra power is always such a good thing, especially once you have the car mastered.
I dont plan on going "backwards" in terms of speed or development, but just made me think about the whole issue.

well cerber450 keep trying to persuade me but I am holding off the evil forces until such time as my forehead gets totally sunburnt from having the roof off. Thats the issue really, my definition of a sports car includes it being a convertible. Not sure I could live with a hard top "for the weekend sir". Although in extreme heat I have sometimes contemplated taking the everyday hack with air con so as to avoid turning up a sweaty mess.More Power!! You know it make's sense.
I have a similar feeling with the S3 and my Mini. Every time I drive the mini again, I marvel at how much fun I can have and not cross the limits of the law too much. This applies to most minis not just my tuned ones. Throwing them around corners you would dream of trying at a similar speed in TVR and the respose just evokes so much fun.

Perhaps not quite the same and I hope I don't upset anyone with this, it is not my intention.
Just had a 4.0 Chimaera for a week while the Cerb was readied for Le Mans.
It reminded me of my karting days as it was very nippy, easy to place on the road
and felt compact around me.
Especially great fun on the country lanes.
However, got back in to the Cerb last night and it felt like climbing back into a racing car.
The awesome power comes in much later, you have to brake earlier and it's more
at home on A roads rather than lanes.
For me nothing beats it, I grinned all the way home throwing pops and bangs at villagers
as we passed by.
Mrs GCerbera tried sitting in the driver's seat of the Chimaera, but couldn't reach the pedals.
Shame as she said she would have liked one as her car and then I could have borrowed it
to go play in the lanes!
