Hi all looking for advice on job hunting please .

Having recently left a company that regularly sub contracted to I find myself in the position now searching for work so after some helpful advice as I no this has been covered on here a few times in the past .

Have never had to look for work in the past as its always come to me from recommendations through others etc .

The last time went for a interview was 2003 and never done a C.V in my life so looking for few helpful pointers in any websites that help you do a c.v. of what prospective employers find easy to read and don't throw in the bin after 2 seconds .

Also any advice on which websites to upload it to etc would be magic as you could say am a little out of touch on this and everything used to be make a phone call go see then OK start Monday now everyone wants a c.v. .

Am looking for work both PAYE and as a sub contractor and willing to travel throughout the UK as this is what I have always done providing the money is right

Many thanks

If you do a search you will find much help and insight on what cvs work and which don't. Top tip; make it short and sharp and output based.

Good luck!

Hello Billy,

I would be happy to help on the CV side of things if you like. I am currently developing a site (this can be found in the business section of the forum) which should go live in around 4-6 weeks which primarily re-writes CVs to a professional standard.

Simple CV website

I have some experience in interviewing and so I could also give you a number of different pointers on that side of things too.

Feel free to send me an e-mail and I would be happy to help.
