Just seen this post. Yes, I've got one and think it is brilliant! Good overt anti theft device as well as making working inside the drivers side of the car easier to get to.

For some obscure reason I have a mental image of the wheel coming away in my hands on the hairpin coming off the Rannoch Moor! yikes

Theft provention: I have a hidden fuel pump switch, which incidentally I've not used in 20 years. Never had the slightest problem.

Removable steering wheel: where the hell do you put it when you take it off the car?

Ive had two classics that have been broken into by " joyriders" who damaged the door locks , ripped out the steering lock , then hot wired the car only to travel 100 yards up the road when the fuel cut of switch cut in and starved the carb ,

problem is it caused over 1000 pounds of damage , not including the scratched paint around the locks ,

All my cars ( classics ) are fitted with imobiliser / fuel cut off switches , but unfortunately will not deter the casual thief .

This is why the removable steering wheel , will hopefully make a teenage joyrider think twice !!.

As far as the steering wheel , Ive got the original and 14" Moto lita version , it simply goes into a canvas bag and is then given to the wife ........who carries it with the shopping

In the boot? (On a roadster). You can also leave it in place but just resting on the splines. Chances are they couldnt work out how to fit it.

I guess you're right. Just my luddite way of thinking I guess, having lived with the car so long.
