I know many people will have come up with good solutions for this so I would like the benefit of your experience and advice.

I want to replace the manufacturer fitted double din sat nav/audio in my Porsche 996 Turbo, 2004 with PCM2. I will also have to replace the amplifier as PCM2 has a MOST fibre backbone.

1. Must have bluetooth for hands free.
2. Touch screen would be good but not essential.
3. Must be able to accept a feed from my iPod.
4. Budget - up to £1,000 approx.

At the moment I thinking of the following:

1. Sony XNV-L77BT or Kenwood DNX-7260BT. Approx £920.
2. Phonocar 3-Way Passive Crossover x 2. Approx £70.
3. AUTOLEADS-PC2-95-4. Approx £25.
4. Alpine MRX-V60 amplifier. Approx £320.
5. Connects2 fascia plate. Approx £35.

What do you think? Anyone had a Sony XNV-L77BT?

Thanks in advance.

On a unit such as this, it's all about the navigation and personally I think Sony has the edge going with tomtom.
The Garmin software on the Kenwood models is not as advanced as a Garmin portable unit costing a fraction of the price, so due to this I found the Kenwood rather lacking and disappointing.

Another point to take into consideration is the DAB explosion that is imminent, as this will make both of these models obsolete soon.
The first double din nav unit with integrated DAB is already on sale in Australia, so expect manufacturers to release new models in the UK soon.

I just removed the Pioneer Avic F900BT for an alpine S300R in my Bose equipped C4S.
The headunit will power the front and rear speakers, leaving a requirement for a small amp for the sub
Both very good, but the alpine sound quality seems better.

Does the Alpine unit have traffic info and speed camera warnings?
