Does anybody know if the roll cage in the T350 is any good?
Discussion
I think it is far far better than the Chimaera/Griffith era cars where the seat bolts just go through the GRP floor and there is no side impact protection at all. This is one reason I upgraded. However, don't kid yourselves that this is as strong as a decent modern supermini in a similar impact, the door bars don't lock into a strong point by the latch, the rear of the 'cage' doesn't actually connect to the chassis either. Of course the GRP is great at absorbing energy, but a Range Rooney driving into the side of you WILL hurt, especially with a big transmission tunnel squeezing you in.

One of my previous T350's got spun backwards thru a hedge and down into a ditch by the chap I sold it too. The roll hoops of the cage popped thru the roof! By modern standards it's not up to the job of major race work but IMHO more than adequate for track work and road.
It wasn't the purple one was it Dave

I have read various threads indicating that the rollcage is not very substantial?
Does anybody have any pictures?
Probably my posts.Does anybody have any pictures?
It is NOT to any FIA standard or even close.
It is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than a chim/griff/ slightly better than a Cerb/Tuscan.
For a non-racer, it is fine, but I dislike the description of a roll cage as there is very little 'cage' about it, from what I have seen, it is attached at four points only - two at the front, two at the back on the furthest forward bars - the extensions on either side shown on the photos goes into fibreglass... So being kind, it is a more elaborate roll bar, than cage.
I feel very safe in the T-cars, I would think twice about going on track in a Griff/Chim however.
