I've had the car on the market for a couple of months with this ad..
There has been a bit of interest, a couple of folks have been to see it but apart from a low offer (and one chap I need to take some extra pictures for) I've hardly had a sniff.
It is a good honest car, not perfect but I don't claim it is. I am aware that the mileage might put a few people off and the interior colour is a little marmite. However the pictures are nice, the write up is honest and frankly it is a great car and I don't think I am taking the piss with the price...
Thoughts appreciated...

Its a bit of a bad time still i guess, the only ones that seem to be selling are cheaper.
It looks and sounds a lovely car and im sure a buyer will be along soon, when i sold my last one, i had nothing for a month then then it went abroad.
If it makes you feel any better id have certainly looked at your car at the end of last year when i was scouting for one!
Have you tried advertising elsewhere?
My current one has higher milage but BCA sold his sprint car last month with 90k+ on so there are people out there who arent fussed, it must be more reliable and well used , thats how i look at it

theyre a specialist car remember.tis cheap for a "mk2" as it were BUT mileage is a putter off - pic 5 shows a fairly marked bit of seat, pic 7 shows a scored looking disc through the non standard wheels. I know I know but as we all know "as standard as poss" usually makes things easier to sell.
if I'm honest you have been too honest - sometimes its getting someone to phone about the car, then they see it rather than "imagine". I wouldn't lie but I'd rephrase the sections about air con, trim and it "not really being a LW".
might also be worth sticking it on TVRCC if you know someone with membership - or even take it to local meet.

we have been in touch last year I recall...
Leaving aside my personal search criterias, this is my opinion on the advert in general:
- Since the mileage is mentioned in the advert header, I wouldn't repeat it in the text again. Rather highlight even better the good and regular service that the car has received. List even the service history if possible.
- The price is very good, wouldn't go lower for sure
- External pictures are of good quality, but the only interior picture gives the impression of a pretty worn seat. Get the leather bit back in shape, freshen up the colour and make some good interior pictures... people want to imagine themself being inside.

Just needs to be a more positive pitch! The pics are taken at night but they dont convey the meanness of a cerb.
Look at the pics that are used on James Aggers ads? And his wording?
Why dont you put the spiders back on and sell the SP12s separately? Might makea few quid..?

Why call it 'Moonraker Black' in the advert (I know that is the official colour). Why not 'Black Beauty' or something else more attention grabbing?
Why refer to it as 'The Cerbera....'. Sounds all wrong to me.
If you dont know its a Dec 2000 then dont write anything like that. Save it for when people call you.
I would refer to the interior as a sand colour with raspberry in seat and back panels etc... A raspberry interior doesnt appeal but as 'accents' it is great.
Why put an 'etc' after facelift - why dont you mention all of the items eg larger screen, tuscan seats AND tuscan style lights.
Who did the remap?
Intrax suspension - rather than mention previous owner - just say these are the top of the range and are VERY expensive. Or maybe a Gaz gold owner will give you a grand to do a swap.....?!
HID upgrade (dont mention 'it helps')
Chassis waxoyled and given a clean bill of health.
Recent serviceable items include front discs, diff bushes and clutch slave seals.

I'm the person Gifdy refers to as someone looking for a Cerb. I actually know this car personally as the previous owner who had it for 8 years is a friend of mine and it came to Le Mans with me 6 or 7 times. It's a stunning car, sounds awesome and looks great but if I was to buy it it would feel like I was sleeping with his wife!
I think most has already been said but the ad doesn't present the car in the best light and doesn't really sell it. Read a few other ads and see what jumps out at you. I've had 6 or 7 enquiries on my Tuscan in a week and it's now sold. I spent a lot of time thinking about the wording of my ad and the pictures I posted and it obviously worked.
For me the mileage is a little high but that shouldn't in itself put everybody off. I know it's been a daily driver most of it's life so that's to be expected.
Get some pics taken on a sunny day or at least not at dusk!
The pic of the seat puts me off so take some better pics of the interior and maybe even fix the seat up a little.
I don't like the SP12 wheels, put the spiders back on and sell the SP12's separately.
Sell it on the fact that a 4.5 LW is a special version of a great car and this is a rare opportunity to own a fantastic car which has had some carefully chosen upgrades (suspension, exhaust, induction pipes etc) to enhance it.

As someone who's looking for a Cerbera at the moment, I think I have to agree with most of the comments, especially the ones regarding standard car & spiders. Although I appreciate the mechanical 'tweaks', I personally prefer my cars to to look standard.
As for the price, Cerbs are difficult to price up as a lot of it comes down to how it has been looked after. Sure you've got mileage against you but age, reliability & being a 4.5 should work in your favour.
Get some of the small stuff sorted, get the aircon re-gassed and give the buyer some confidence by sticking a new MoT on it.
Finally, get lots of pictures so that you can e-mail them off to prospective buyers. Get them of the chassis, general and in the usual problem areas. Get them underneath to show for oil leaks and get them of the usual areas of wear on the interior.
I prefer the honest approach. If I'm going to travel to look at a car, I want to get armed with as much information before hand.

Well if I was in the market I'd be viewing, yes the aircon should ideally be sorted out and a new 12 month ticket goes a long way. You'd be surprised how many are put off by the words decat as they think they are going to pulled over and gas analysed every day of the week. I'd consider getting them reinstated. Then you'll be able to remove the phrase 'very loud' which again can put peeps off.
Extremely fairly priced, if not a little under valued imhe. Take it off the market do the above and then put it back on £749 higher in a months time.........
