Coopers Fiamm Oil Filter

I just want to check that the Fiamm filter is in no way related to the FRAM filters that have such a bad reputation. What is the preferred filter for a 4.5? TIA

I use coopers filters on my cerb and land rover, and never had a problem with them.

Oh dear, I've just picked up a fiamm oil filter for the cerb, do I fit it or are they a barge pole job?

Fiaam are standard equipment on Maseratis and Lambo's.
Coopers and Fiaam have merged recently to form Coopers-Fiaam, so I reckon you should be OK with it.

PS Unless you have a dodgy copy cat filter. The real ones are fiAAm, not fiaMM

I've just received the "Cerbera ajp sevice kit" I ordered from TVR power, and to my surprise the oil filter they include is indeed a FRAM one (fram Ph5443). It actually looks pretty decent, but after reading the above and just to be on the safe side I'm gonna pop off to the local landy dealership and buy a genuine LandRover one.

I can't see why not, but check with djstevec if you need reassurance.

I run one of those, my oil pressure did drop a tad when fitting but the pressure delta across the filter will no doubt be greater due to the finer filter medium. I have plenty of pressure on mine anyway due to a modified filter head.

Will be interesting to see how the filter holds out and how clean the oil remains and if the oil pressure stays up.
