600 mil cooker hoods?
Discussion
Can anyone help? The gap I have for my cooker hood is marginally smaller than the standard 600mm and is at about 594mm (due to a slight error with a tape measure),
The splashback isnt a problem as these can be custom made but 99.9% of cooker hoods are either 600mm or 900 mm which are no good
Any ideas for a hood that will fit? there are mini ones that I have seen that are 450mm etc but these are a bit small tbh. What I am looking for is one that is a whisker under 600 mil - or one at least fairly close to it? Anyone know of such a thing? Thanks in hope!

Get another eye level cupboard from wherever you got your kitchen from and make some kind of housing the right width for the space, but put in a 450mm hood? It would fit in with the rest of teh kitchen and means you wouldn't have to spend a lot on a flashy looking extractor as it would be hidden from view.
Ok,
Ive remeasured and its 596mm with a bit (not much) of a shove (wood flexing) but the units I have allow for very little adjustment and it is at the limit of how far it can move. I considered elongating the screw holes on the backing plates but it is an 800 mm unit full of crockery so dont really want to weaken them by any amount!
A smaller unit won't do as the one below is also an 800mm unit and I want it to match.
Ordinarily I'd just accept defeat and buy a smaller hood. - I like the idea about fabricating the housing and fitting a smaller hood though - but for the fact its so sodding close! I found a company in America that do 595 hoods but they are a hideous price
I did see that Ikea - who seem to specialise in odd sizes did a kind of flat round hood that was 500mm and would have looked quite good but that seems discontinued sadly.
Id want it to recirculate if that makes any difference....
