PH Premium Memerbship - E.g. No ads in exchange for money

A lot of people are complaining about the ads on the site which I think is wrong seeing as PH is a free service and you need to generate your revenue somehow.

Working for a company that relies very much on ad revenue, I understand why you need to put ads online, however for those that complain, how about offering a "Premium Membership" to remove the ads?

I for one would be happy to pay an annual membership fee in exchange for a site without ads. This way I'm helping a site that I enjoy using and I'm offering a guaranteed revenue stream whereas now I do not click on a single ad.

The adverts don't bother me, so I wouldn't choose to buy premium membership purely to get rid of them.

Can't see it ever working as long as add ons like Ad block are around tbh.

Very easy to block Adblock if PH chose to do so.....

At the end of the day, you can't have everything for free. There is a cost behind everything and the cost behind PH is probably quite substantial.

The ads really do slow loading (for me anyway) and what's with all of the crap at the footof the page now. Pretty soon there will only be a couple of threads per page in the fora.
