Garden Irrigation pumps?

I bought a 3500L underground water reservoir with a view to plumbing in an automatic irrigation system for the garden. Thing is it didn't come with a pump and the company that makes it don't make pumps and don't know anything about them

Apparently, for irrigation, a surface pump is the one to go for (not submersible) but otherwise I have no idea of what specification is needed with regards to flow rate, pressure etc They have a load of these things at the hardware store of all different makes and models and no-one there seems capable of recomending anything.

Anyone in the know?

Pistonheads: irrigation pumps don't really matter?

Looks like a Gardena classic 5000 will do the job.
