Tin of wood preservative in a sprayer
Discussion
Is there any reason why wood preservative in a tin can't be used in a sprayer?
My garden is 150 feet long and has a 6 foot fence either side, the thought of painting a fence the length of a football field isn't filling me with joy, everyone I've asked has just tutted and said "you don't want to be using one of them they go everywhere"
Well actually I do want to use one of those
I have 30L of preservative in the shed so I'd rather not have to buy the spray version.

I did just that, although I did thin it down a little, the modern stuff is water based.
Didn't have a problem because it's all within the property,i.e. no neighbours.
Gave it two coats and followed on with a brush just to spread the runs out a bit, came up a treat.
Half hour to spray as opposed to 4 hours with a brush

I'm sure I've heard of people using a weed killer spray thingy like this:

instead of a conventional spray gun, you'll be able to get loads of preservative in it rather than keep filling up a gun.
The only thing is if you have concrete posts, trying to keep the stain off them.

Yes did the same last year to a large wooden shed. Used a garden sprayer and a water based treatment and thinned it by trial and error till it sprayed OK.
Took about an hour instead of half a day. Put loads of cardboard on the paving and had a offcut in my left hand to use as a shield so I didn't spray the windows or roofing. Just sprayed it on and tipped off with a dryish brush. Easy peasy.
