Silence!

anyone got any good products for blocking out the sounds of generators and the race engines, i like to get a couple of hours sleep and so thinking for some ear muffs fitted over the top of plugs???? Any suggestions!

I go for a kip wearing ear defenders, they drown out the generators and drunken idiots walking past your tent

Don't know how they'll fare but they're excellent for long haul flights and crying babies. Coupled with foam ear plugs, they should do!

I have always just got use to the noise before, mind you don't really sleep the whole weekend, save that for monday morning at work

Get Blind Drunk and you will sleep through anything.

On the other hand have some filtered noise plug's custom made (Like those used by motorcyclists) I have a collegue who does them if you fancy a trip to Birmingham!

I find a combo of beer, port and exhaustion usually does the trick, but if it's really loud, those cheap foam ear plugs are good too.

I find the sound of the cars always lulls me to sleep at about 6am, 3 hours kip and then raring to go again. last year ear plugs failed miserably against the dutch and their fireworks and techno music

I always take ear plugs and always sleep until the tent gets too hot.

Sleep in a car or van windows up, sunroof closed and doors locked with the best ear defenders you can get. I can personally recommend a Volvo estate with a roll mat, single quilt and a proper pillow not one of the ridiculous blow-up camping ones. Good luck.

Does he know anyone on the south coast that does them? we are looking for them for work and they would be handy for LM too.

The Met Police use (not 100% sure if they still do) use Laser Lite ear plugs for their firearm training and for their motorcyclists. I've got some and they are excellent, used them at le mans for the past seven years and you can use one set all weekend too. They use are the pink and yellow ones which you can get from a popular online auction site flea-bay.

Have a search for BioEars. I found these in Supadrug in the Isle of Man last year when the chickens roosting in the trees on the campsite kept waking at 4am. Wonderful things, silicone, mouldable, well worth a purchase.

I haven't used it in anger yet but the air flow isn't bad and it makes a bit of White noise and will hopefully make tent sharing a less traumatic experience

On the silence front I go with my shure bud headphones and the whitenoise app from the app store, it drowns out the noise from my kids so racing cars would be no problem!
