I saw that article and I couldn't decide if it was genuinely aimed at drivers generally, or more specifically 'suicide missile' motorcyclists, or just propaganda to pre-empt and justify 'doing' 1000's of commuters and OAPs at 33mph (for the lolly from speed awareness courses obviously)?

Definitely. Out of curiosity though, what is the threshold of splat as opposed to merely mangled?

They need to do something about people doing less than 40 mph on clear nsl roads when I'm trying to get to work also.

I did my bikesafe course last Friday with Sgt Carl Knapp. Nice enough bloke and really knows what he's on about.

Make more sense if it didn't refer to mopeds, which are limited to 30MPH or so!
