Quick but worthwhile detours from the autoroute

I'm probably going to just jump on the toll road and head down the autoroute again to Le Mans as I'm going to be journeying alone in quite an ordinary car, but I wondered if there were any short diversions that were worth considering; maybe the old circuit at Reims or something?

Going through Reims via N road will be quite a detour. Unless you make a full day out of it and spend the night there.

It can be done mind but I wouldn't personaly.

There was also a GP track at Rouen but, I believe, there little evidence of it anymore.

How about head for Caen

That way you will mis Rouen so look at the saving in time

Cross Pegusas bridge and D-Day beaches at Arromanches
You could visit Bayeux but then you'll be making a day of it



In fact this year were going back via Cherbourg so we can stop at St Mere Eglise
Weve done most of the D-Day pionts but some how in the past missed that one


The other year we went via Millau to look at the bridge

just did a day in france visited azincourt battle field and museum it was excellent, but for all those looking for something big try the blockhouse near st omer.
The biggest lump of concrete you will ever see built to hide a V2 production site, did not even know about it until looking at the azincourt leaflet and it turned out to be simply aamazing, well worth a visit
