I'm now sleeved and de-catted. My word it's loud now.

Mrs and I need to shout to talk (keeps her quiet), the lift off bangs are incredible (really loud and run on for longer) and it's generally obnoxious and anti-social.

OK, so I knew it would make a difference but blimey.

No cats + sleeved exhaust does sound but IMO a bit too much for day to day use. I have the ACT Cherry Bomb back box on mine + full decat which I find reduces the noise but enhances the sound.

Standard back box minus cats also sounds very nice all IMO of course

My daily is another 4.0V8 in the form of a Lexus LS400 that runs almost silently. One extreme to the other.

It's going to take some getting used to, but let's see.......

Di you still have the pre-cats or have they gone as well please? I keep thinking about more noise as I only hear mine from inside and it could be louder!

The sleeved pipe was already on when I purchased the car, and I've only added the Y. I must assume that the pre-cats are still there.....

How are you planing to pass your next MOT test? Have you re-mapped the ECU to take into account the different set up emissions?

Fitted by my TVR fellows so they sorted it all out, a drive when fitted sorts the ECU. Standard pipe stored at the garage for MOT time swapping (if needed).

Mine just went through with a de-cat y piece. I didnt look like it was going to but dropped enough just at the end of the test. That was a year ago and it is being tested again in the morning. Hopefully it will pass.
