Ws driven to school in one of these for a while. Liked it. Very solid and the first time I ever saw climate control. I remember it wouldn't blow hot air until the engine temp was up.

Yes the Bosch KE- Jetronic on my 190E 2.5-16 is very restrictive, is yours the same system?

The autobox may be the same as the one in the V8, if so I'm sure it could take it.

I really like the look of these cars both inside and out. No idea why. I also find the size of the Audi badge on the bootlid amusing. Looks tiny by modern standards (not that that's a bad thing).

That number plate suggests it may have been an Audi UK car at some point (as VAG cars had plates with 'NV' area code), may also be why it's quite loaded with kit.

Before the new style plates the last 2 were area codes, now of course the first 2 denote an area. Caused a right uproar in some places when they lost their original code IIRC.

That's a neat looking one. Rember my first drive as kid in one - was impressive bakc when the came out. It was also teh first car I had demo of ABS in. It left little skids on the tarmac as the wheels locked and unlocked...

In South Africa they made them much better looking IMO - they came with the more modern nose, BBS multispokes and the rear lights were all red and went around the number plate surround.

Can vouch (first hand) that this car is really, seriously lovely and has been cherished.

One of those rare occasions that the car is better than the pictures (and the pictures are very good).

My brother told me I was talking crap when we were little and I informed him it had a 5cyl engine. Mind you, he also said that a few years ago about the VW V5s

The only things that I could see wrong with this car when it was last here were the faded screw covers on the rear number plate. I actually left a new pair in the glovebox for the owner then but it looks as if he didn't change them!
