If you are heading home that way, and probably 3 junctions in either direction.

Just walking the dog, went over the footbridge and a P&O artic is on fire in the eastbound carriageway.

Big big queues on a Friday evening, traffic stopped both ways.

I could see the smoke cloud and took a minor detour to see where it was coming from (I was in the Epping area).

That means I could smell it a mile away - must be a good fire.

Smoke had died down a bit.

Shame I didn't take a pic of the 50 or so annoyed looking bikers on the westbound carriageway at the front of the queue - empty tarmac ahead and not allowed to go!!

I ofetn wonder why they don't let the bikers go in a controlled manner in cases like this. Its not likely to cause any harm is it?

Wonder how many people used that slip road to the left in the second pic.... the one that gives access to a bridge and then back down the other wise (It's a bridge that joe public isn't allowed to use)

Pig headedness, a "rules is rules" mentality and not giving a fk about inconveniencing the public mostly.

To be fair, they'd then get others saying, "well if they can go why can't I".

Cause of the `sheep and leaders` syndrome, 1 bike goes then the next followed by a car then so on etc the rubber necking then accident on opposite side to fire. Safer to hold all the traffiil fire is out, plus has anyone seen the devastation when a truck tyre blows!
