Exhaust Noise / Track Day
Discussion
Looks like I will be doing my first track day in a few weeks. However, my exhaust set up will most certainly fail the noise test.
It's an afterburner back box, so will a baffle thing sort it? Or should I just stick the original STi back box back on? My only concern with that is it might mess with the remap?
Thank

Using the STi backbox may create a little more exhaust back pressure, possibly, but on the positive side that might create a little more torque too which can only be a good thing.
If you have a 2.5" system based on OEM size pipework/fitment then your STi backbox should fit fine. If you have a 3" system you would have to get an adapter because the flanges would be a different size.
It shouldn't affect your remap though, and even if it did affect spoolup or boost it would be such a tiny change you very probably wouldn't even notice it.

Yes, its 2.5 standard. Thanks for the response (I was hoping you would see this). I think this is a better way to go, rather than a baffle as its bloody loud at present so I would rather be safe than sorry. If you have a 2.5" system based on OEM size pipework/fitment then your STi backbox should fit fine.
