Hi

I am going to look at a car with 34,000 miles on it later and the guy I spoke to said it has a full service history but no stamps in the book. Instant warning bells but I thought I would run a vehicle check on it out of interest.

The mileage showed as follows:

Source Date Mileage
BVRLA - MEMBER 12/05/2011 34,281
BVRLA - MEMBER 18/02/2011 32,982
RMI MIL'GE - SCHEME 18/02/2011 32,982
BVRLA - MEMBER 21/08/2010 28,555
BVRLA - MEMBER 15/04/2010 25,366
BVRLA - MEMBER 25/02/2010 20,479
RMI MIL'GE - SCHEME 25/02/2010 20,479
BVRLA - MEMBER 23/01/2010 23,394
BVRLA - MEMBER 18/02/2009 14,690
BVRLA - MEMBER 18/12/2008 13,389

BVLRA is British Vehicle Leasing and Rental Association. Does anyone know anything about this and should I just run a mile? Would it have been serviced at whatever the 'RMI' intervals are?

Thanks

You want to buy an ex-rental? Personally I wouldn't but that's your choice. Is there any way you can contact the fleet dept of the Rental firm it belonged to?

Sounds more like it's mileage has been recorded for some reason - possibly in for warranty work?

It won't be a 3 year old ex daily rental car....
