Hello everyone , first post on this side so any advice welcome .

Think i may have sold my current car and the defender 90 is on my short list for a replacment , budget up to 12K and main reason for wanting one being i've never had one .

just ran a quote on Go Compare and was quite surprised how high the prices were, who are the specialist insurers and how much should i be paying .

I'd buy a couple of Land Rover magazines as there seem to be a fair few specialist insurers advertising in the magazines.

Haven't bought one in a while but doubt it has changed.

I used 2gether borkers, I was recommended by a club member. 4k miles, limited use, no commuting. Own another car. Declared mods are tyres, snorkel and winch. Cover for off road and green lane use, insurer is "KGM".

I'm 28, no NCB for this car, locked in a garage, OK post code. £165

Avoid the main stream insurers who expect their customers to have standard cars and several years NCB. As said above, buy a couple of mags but also try Adrian Flux or Footman James. I am 43, wife is 36, we have 1991 Defender 90 and pay around £115 pa for FC insurance with 3000 mile limit. This is through AF and also includes off road cover and 'moderate' mods.
