Hi,

Another query from a newbie owner..!

Having never cared to do anything than go through the local carwash before with my daily drive, I was wondering how many times a year you would recommend applying wax and polish to a car you care about like the Chimaera?

Any products recommended aswell? Dodo juice and Sonus seem to be popular in my research.

Thanks in advance..

Hi David
Start off with wash down on low pressure wash
a 2 Bucket wash with a wash mit (not a sponge)
Rinse and dry with a drying towel or Waffle cloth
Quick detail and clay bar
Wash again and dry
Put a glaze on such as poorboys black hole or white diamond dependant on colour
and wax with dodo juice again which wax is dependant on colour
wait 24 hours an top off with Dodo Supernatural wax.
This should last for 4-6 months dependant on weather and use
Hope this helps
Graeme

Hi Graeme,

Thanks for this prompt reply. Really helpful -just invested in a few products today.
What is the 'glaze' stage for?

The glaze has micro fillers and helps hide swirl marks and small scratches.
Check my profile and will be happy to talk you throgh.

Im a great fun of the water based "hot wax" products, basically you wash the car, rinse it and then spray a solution of hot wax solution on with a garden sprayer.(hot or cold solution, but hot works a bit better) Then just dry it with a towel, and jobs done. No white smears, no extra scratching caused by polishing, and it only takes a few minutes to do every time you wash the car.

This is the sort of stuff:
