Probably been covered many time so sorry if it sounds repetitive, just wondering what people's first cars were? I myself am 18 and have been on the road for 4 months, currently have the pleasure of driving my parents Nissan almera 1.6! Not great but a little faster than most of my friends cars!
Tell us your story...

One of these: http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=162&i=185...

But it was silver. I loved it more than life itself, and I'd probably still have it today were it not written off by a Porsche 924 who hit me on the M3.

Ford Capri 2.0 mk3 at 18

for some reason it seemed to be somewhat 'under the radar' as far as insurance quotes went, it was still £1500 to insure... but bearing in mind many cars of similar performance (0-60 about 10 secs and 110 ish) were well over 2k it seemed a good deal, RWD too for giggles.

mine had uprated front springs and a few other little mods, made it reasonable to drive as well.

I've been dabbling on and off with capris since. How sad am I smile

We got the car around when I passed my test, both front tires brand new, just had the exhaust changed and the mechanic advised my parents that the front tires are running low on tread... After 4 months! I claimed to know nothing about it! haha

My mate (guitarist in band too) had a Vauxhall Frontera diesel (I think either 2.3 or 2.8, pulled pretty well either way). And the bd was paying much less on insurance than me on an Astra! frown Great car though, took ridiculous amounts of abuse and much more comfortable for 5 teenagers than the average Corsa. Highlight was fitting himself, me and the drummer into it along with the drum kit, PA, lights, guitar stack and bass stack. Bloody tight though hehe

D reg Skoda Estelle 120 LSE. Resplendent with vinyl roof bowtie. It was never any bother. I was getting a lot of stick about it from a colleague with an R5 GT Turbo. He went strangely quiet when his turbo failed hehe

1968 Morris 1000, MED567F, this was 18 years ago and I would get one again when my kids learn. Low power, RWD and surprisingly tough exteriors.

2001 Fiat Punto 1.2 8v aged 15... By age 17 it had a genuine Abarth bodykit, genuine Fiat 15" alloy wheels, an awesome sound system and the all important driving licence!... I have since grown up (and drive a diseasal).

C2s are nice my mate has one! The one thing I have over many of my mates is 5 doors, seems like a minor detail but 3 doors can be such a hassle and often the rear widows you get in 3 door cars are those stupid pop out ones! Just personal opinion!

Nope! Mine was a H reg Peugeot 205 Trio, resplendent in arterial red and packing a savage 954cc engine and rolled around corners like a zorb.

Great little car though and cheap as chips motoring!

Mine

without the body kit and with the piddly little 2.0 litre engine and 130k on the clock.

Never put a foot wrong though and handled great.
