Proof that Scameras don't work....

I was driving along Wokingham Road away from Reading (the best direction....) and came past a speed camera. About 50 yards past this were 5 police bikes, 2 cars and a scamera van. Talk about overkill! The camera is currently live and you can see the scamera van and plod even before you get to the camera so you wouldn't speed up after the scamera. They must really be desperate for cash. What a waste of manpower. At least 10 officers just sitting around doing nothing

I wouldn't mind if they were doing tax disks and dangerous vehicles but this is ridiculous. As you said, TVP are completely over the top for this kind of thing. There is a rumour going round that this weekend, they are stopping EVERY bike they can find and going over it with a fine tooth comb. Talk about victimisation!!

They have recently been sitting between the 2 BP petrol stations in the 30 limit on Wokingham Road with a Talivan. It's after the camera and left hand bend as you go uphill.

However, this location is GREAT for catching people coming in to town, as they will be caught after a sharper turn. (sharp enough I've seen a fire engine on on '2 wheels' coming towards me )
