Fuel Card - 5k, 3000cc or Lower, what car?
Discussion
New job is supplying me with the holy grail of motoring, a Fuel Card
Policy says 3000cc or less, which IS adhered to, age of 6 years or under doesn't seem to be looked at, which opens up the possibilities a lot.
Car will mainly be doing big motorway miles, so have been lurking on the Smoker Barge thread. E39 530d sport seems nice, or possibly a 530 sport.
Have also noticed the E36 M3s are 3l or lower. Can they put up with just doing 95% Motorway cruising day in day out?
I'm trying to get nifty with the options here. B5 S4 are 2.7l?
Other possibilities are:
Phaeton 3.0D
730d sport
(3.0l V6) 320CDI, but might be out of range of price.
320CDI C-Class
2.7 / 3.0 TDI
Essentially something big engined and germanic
I'm handy with a spanner so maintenance isn't much of an issue, at the rate i'll rack up miles 3 month oil change intervals will be needed.
Currently running a C240 V6 at the moment which apart from a couple of ball joints and water pumps hasn't really put a foot out of place in 120k that i've done in it over the past 4 years so far, but the time will come when it wears out.
Suggestions a go go!

E46 330i?
would be my choice, or an E39 530i.http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2776908.htm

I would've thought, if you're doing mostly motorway miles than an E36 M3 would be a worse choice than an E46 330, personally.
One, you'll look a bit like a chav in an E36 (Sorry to owners, but that's where they are these days and have been for some while). Two, the harsh suspension and big wheels will just transmit noise and on a motorway you'll reap none of the benefits. Three, an M3's a lot more expensive to service than a 330.
Of course with a fuel card an RX8 makes a lot more sense!
Quite nice M'way cruiser too (with the right tyres) as the engine's very smooth.
I guess a Citroen C6 is too expensive still?
I wouldn't consider a Merc personally, but it's an option.
Phaeton's a good idea, but expensive to maintain and can you REALLY get one that cheap?

3000cc but no restriction on how many turbos you can have?
What you need is a nice comfortable GT... Supra 3.0 twin turbo
